Who joins Shine the Light?
All are welcome! — students, parents, elders, clergy, healthcare workers, artists, neighbors. People of all religious and secular backgrounds, in urban and rural neighborhoods; those who have participated in protests or rallies, and those who are new to making their voices heard. We are united: We will not stand by while democracy is threatened and our neighbors are targeted.
Shine the Light! – you will make a difference.
When you make your voice visible, you influence those who walk or drive by. This is a simple, weekly half hour of meaningful action. You’ll be surprised who waves, honks, or joins you. You’ll strengthen and make new connections to your neighbors. Many groups share music and poetry when they gather to remind us that joy is a form of resistance.
Shine the Light is a signature program of The Beacon, a growing movement connecting people of all faiths and secular backgrounds to stand for compassionate democracy and reject cruelty, fear, and despair.
We are not giving up. We are not giving in.
